Professional and lay leadership from area synagogues, day schools, and the Jewish Federation and its agencies gathered on January 21 in the Katz JCC’s Family Activity Center for a discussion on strengthening the South Jersey Jewish community. Facilitated by Erica Frankel, executive director of Assembly, the program was one of three sessions on Building CommUNITY, exploring the “Surge” in interest in Jewish life after October 7th. The primary goals of the program are to build bonds, strengthen relationships among South Jersey Jewish leaders, and promote greater collaboration. Assembly is a national organization that teaches Jewish leaders strategies and skills to create and build the Jewish communities of tomorrow.

Building CommUNITY was designed by The Combinator, the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey’s (JFSNJ) new think tank that brings together professional staff and lay leaders from the Federation and its family of agencies to incubate, develop and launch innovative programs and services for the community.
