How might Jewish wisdom, practices, and stories inspire and inform our contemporary lives? As thoughtful leaders, how do we want to grow Jewishly, and how might we model this growth and exploration for others? What practical techniques can be learned to bring bits of inspiration from Jewish tradition to our networks, peers, and communities?

Participants will:

  • Explore the theory of how we can connect contemporary life to ancient tradition.
  • Connect this theory to practical takeaways for their everyday work and gatherings.
  • Consider a few concrete Jewish Building Blocks to inspire their own Jewish growth.
  • Learn and practice the skills of “The Roadmap of a Vort,” as well as how to find personal resonance in traditional Jewish texts and tradition.

How can we cultivate confidence, fluency, and personal creativity in shaping Shabbat? What does it take to host with boldness — bringing Shabbat rituals to life in ways that move and transform our guests? How do we become courageous curators of space, placing hospitality and ritual at the heart of our Shabbat practice?

At the end of the Shabbat Hospitality Studio mini-series, participants will:

  • Be a skillful experience curator: able to host a Shabbat meal that is far more than a dinner and blessings, but rather, experiences that are intentionally curated to deepen relationships, craft meaning, and set a rhythm to our lives
  • Build creative confidence: understand the purpose behind Shabbat rituals, making these ritual their own
  • Be part of a community of practice: form rich relationships with their peers and a mentor-educator through the cohort experience
