In communities around North America and online, Jewish young adults are gathering to learn Torah—and much more—at IYUN Circles led by specially-trained educators and community builders. The settings are informal and the topics vary. But the throughlines are that each cohort of 8-20 learners fosters community and tackles all kinds of questions: How do I lead a good life? How do I disagree? How do I build the home I want? To explore answers, IYUN often curates cohort members around significant life events—birth, death, marriage, building a home, embracing adulthood. These are special opportunities to deepen social relationships among participants and build long term community, not just “cover material.”

I feel incredibly fortunate to have participated in both an IYUN Elul Circle and an IYUN Resilience Circle, where I gained new perspectives and encountered ideas I had never learned before. The small, intimate group setting created a space for comfortable, rich, and meaningful conversation. Through these circles, I’ve formed some of my closest friendships and feel more connected and grounded in my Jewish identity as an adult. – A. Meridy, IYUN Participant
